Aangezien het dit jaar vijftig jaar geleden is dat het beroemde Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite-concert plaatsvond, kon je op je klompen navoelen dat hier iets mee gedaan zou worden door de platenmaatschappij. Elvis speelde een goed concert op Hawaii en genoot zichtbaar van alle aandacht. Qua nummerkeuze was er een mooi evenwicht tussen nieuwe(re) nummers als Burning Love en Steamroller Blues tegenover oude(re) liedjes als I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry en Blue Suede Shoes. Bij alle nummers valt overigens op dat Elvis goed voorbereid was, maar ook nog eens dat hij beschikte over een geweldige stem, iets dat nog wel eens vergeten wordt als er gesproken wordt over de jaren-zeventig-protserigheid in het uiterlijk van de man. Nu zijn er in het verleden ook al verjaardagsedities geweest, maar dit is de ultieme versie. De originele dubbelaar is opnieuw gemixt, net als de zich op schijf 3 bevindende extra nummers. Deze waren opgenomen om de bioscoopversie van het concert op te rekken tot een volledige film van negentig minuten. Tien jaar geleden werd dit materiaal ook uitgebracht, maar naast de nieuwe mix vinden we nu ook de volledige sessie voor de extra tracks. De zich op de tweede schijf bevindende rehearsalshow heeft dezelfde mix als de 2013 reissue. Als extra is er een blu-ray toegevoegd waarop o.a. de televisieregistratie terug te vinden is. Alles is, zoals gebruikelijk is bij de 8”-uitgaven voorzien van mooi artwork en een uitgebreid, fraai boekwerkje en komt daarmee tot een definitieve, prachtige editie!
